Sound in Faith
Titus 2:2 (KJV) That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
Sound: to have sound health, be well; to be uncorrupt (true in doctrine); wholesome
Faith: moral conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God), especially reliance upon Christ for salvation; constancy in such profession; the system of religious (Gospel) truth itself
To be sound in faith means that our faith is unaltered. Consistency in what you believe is important when holding a leadership position. If you're not sure about your salvation or about the truth of God, then how can you teach other women and be a mentor to them?
Romans 12:2 (KJV) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Our actions will reveal the direction of our thoughts. Don't allow yourself to be poured into the mold of the present thinking, value systems, and conduct of this world. Instead, be transformed. Stay solid in what you believe, so you have the confidence to teach others the truth.
Are you sound in faith? Examine your heart. If you have doubts about your salvation, then you need to get that straightened out with God. You should not be teaching others if you are not 100% sure where you stand.
