A Forgiving Walk
On my way home one day, in the distance I noticed (I assumed) a father and his young son enjoying an afternoon walk. All of the sudden, the little boy stumbled and fell face first on the pavement. Without any hesitation, he got up as if nothing had happened and continued his walk. As I ran this scene through my mind, I realized that the father had no reaction to the fall.
What if we had that kind of attitude an reaction toward one another when it came to forgiveness. Isn't that the way God want's us to respond to offenses? To quickly get up, brush off offenses as if they never happened, forgiving, forgetting and moving on with life.
Philippians 3: 13-14 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Jesus Christ.
