Quiet Grace
Psalm 46:10a Be still, and know that I am God: Has there ever been a time in your life when you have felt alone, frightened or maybe even panicked? I’m sure we can all answer yes to this question. When we panic, our bodies go into overdrive. Our hearts begin to race and our thoughts can become confused and scattered. This is not and never has been God’s intention for our lives. God, in his sovereignty provides us two commands in this small verse:
1. Be still: settle your mind and heart. Calm down and relax. We can only focus and make correct decisions, as well as, follow the leading of the Holy Spirit when we are in this state.
2. Know that I am God: He says for us to acknowledge His rule. He has everything, and I mean everything under control. This brings comfort to those belonging to the Lord whose trust and hope is placed solely in the Lord. But this is also a warning for those that do not know or trust the Lord and oppose Him.
In the struggles of this life, when panic tries to overwhelm your senses, remember….be still and know that I am God.
May God receive All Glory and All Praise!
