Not False Accusers
Titus 2:3 (KJV) The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
Accuser: Slanderous, Satan-like
As I started researching and studying for this article, I was having some trouble putting everything into words. We all know what it is to accuse someone. At some point in our lives, we have been accused of doing something that we didn't do. I know I have. It is very hurtful when you know you didn't do anything wrong and you're being told that you did.
I even thought about skipping this part of the scripture because in my mind, everyone should know what this means. BUT... I realized something all of a sudden when looking at the definition for accuser. We all know that Satan is "The Accuser" but does it click in our mind that when we falsely accuse, that we are like Satan?
This is the only point I want you to get out of this. Don't allow yourself to be brought down to Satan's level. We should thrive to be like Christ, not Satan. So the next time you think about making accusations, remember that Satan is putting those thoughts in your mind so that you are more like him and less like Christ.
Psalm 15:1-5 (KJV) 1 LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? 2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. 3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. 4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not. 5 He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
Sneak Peek for Next Week: I have seen people take verses from the Bible and turn them around to make it sound like it is okay to drink. We will look at what the Bible says and trust you to make the right decision.
