Behavior as Becometh Holiness Part 1
Titus 2:3 (KJV) The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
Behavior: demeanor, bearing
Holiness: reverent (respectful); befitting men, places, actions or sacred things to God.
When you think about holiness, what comes to your mind? How would you define holiness? When I first thought about it, I found it hard to come up with an answer. In my eyes, God is the only one that is truly holy.
1 Samuel 2:2 (KJV) There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God.
Revelation 15:4 (KJV) Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.
God's holiness is simply this: complete perfection. We are not and cannot be perfect because we are sinners. We could never compare to the holiness of God, but we are called to be holy like Him. Because we are children of God, we have been declared holy by the blood of Christ.
Our holiness could never compare with that of God's, but our holiness sets us apart from others. If you are living in God's will, you are different from those who are not.
Holiness is being clean, pure, set apart, moral perfection, Christlike. Don't get discouraged because we can never acquire God's level of holiness. Focus on things above and be obedient to Him. Be like Him.
