Fear - Where is Your Power Over Grace?
There were times in my early childhood when fear and insecurity occupied the largest part of my day. I really had no one to lean on or cry out to most of the time. Growing up pretty much on my own, along with my two older sisters, abandonment was felt.
Then, when I met the Lord, things changed for me. No, my circumstances did not change. I was still living in the chaos – only now, I was no longer alone. I found peace and security for the first time. I had someone who was always there with me. The night terrors became less real and I calmed my racing heart by repeating the powerful name of Jesus over and over.
The more we trust God to get us through difficult circumstances, the stronger our faith grows. It is in the simple confidence of a child to believe that the name of Jesus has the power to remove evil forces out of her life. A story I am reminded of is when Jesus was praying in the garden on the night of his betrayal. As the Roman soldiers approached, Jesus questioned them as to whom they were seeking. It is found in John 18:5 They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I Am He.
As you continue reading this story in John 18, you discover that upon the declaration of our Lord and Savior that “I Am He”, all those standing around him fall backwards to the ground. Jesus was declaring His oneness with the Father. This same “I AM” was used when God provided to Moses a response of who had sent him to the Israelites. See Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.
We find in the scriptures that at the power of His name every knee will bow! Isaiah 45:23, Romans 14:11 and Philippians 2:10 all declare this. Nothing will be left standing! I hope you find encouragement and strength in this fact. When you call on the name of Jesus – an enormous amount of power is released! Many are unable to comprehend it, but I am a living witness of its success in my life.
Are you ready to give up fear? When you can’t do anything else, call on the name of Jesus, He will deliver you! Memorize and declare the following verse as your new motto!
Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
May God receive All Glory and All Praise!
